Human capital: The strength to grow

El Salvador's workforce is made up of 3.1 million people, of which 54% are aged under 40 years. The local workforce is highly productive and capable of developing new skills in a short time. In addition, there is a growing population with higher education able to meet the challenges of a modern and globalized economy.

Today, the Salvadoran workforce is internationally recognized for its diligence, efficiency and work ethics. Entrepreneurs and investors established in the country define it as one of the most outstanding in the world.

El Salvador's Labor Code balances the protection of workers' rights with the flexibility that companies require to run their businesses and create jobs. The country is characterized by good relations between companies and workers and has not been affected by significant disputes or strikes. The degree of unionization in El Salvador is low, as is the incidence of strikes.

Companies that need to train their workers can do so with the support offered by the Instituto Salvadoreño de Formación Profesional (INSAFORP), an autonomous government agency that seeks to fulfill the needs of qualified human resources required by the country's productive base. Multiple companies and investors have found INSAFORP an important tool to finance, partially or totally, the professional development of their staff to adapt to the needs of the market.
