The plane Surf City El Salvador that will activate the route to Los Angeles
The commitment of the Government of President Nayib Bukele to promote El Salvador as a good destination to visit, invest and live continues to advance, this time, under the positioning strategy of the Surf City El Salvador brand for the Los Angeles, California market in USA
As part of this strategy, the Government of El Salvador and Avianca unveiled the plane that will carry the Surf City El Salvador brand on the fuselage of the aircraft as a different country promotion mechanism.
In addition, Salvadoran art can be appreciated by passengers through Illustrator Armando Márquez, who captured several of his designs on the aircraft's luggage racks and folding tables, inspired by Salvadoran beaches and the differentiating value of waves through a " surf art " proposal, which conveys a lifestyle of our Salvadoran coast.
"We want people to appreciate it, to feel identified by the love of the beach and nature, through vibrant colors that are representative of the heat of the tropics ," said Márquez, an illustrator, plastic artist and surf lover from Santa Ana.
The Airbus A320 family aircraft will travel 2.9 million kilometers and transport more than 100,000 passengers for a year, on the Los Angeles-San Salvador route, making Surf City known to all travelers who pass through both destinations.
“We are making a different promotion bet, bringing the Surf City El Salvador brand closer to other markets. This alliance is key to continue positioning the country through surfing as an anchor bet to connect it with other natural, cultural and historical destinations”, said the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez.
Currently, the United States represents the main source market of tourists to El Salvador with 60% of the total arrivals, being key to continue stimulating the promotion of the country in said destination. The official stressed that this action will have an important impact on the promotion of the country through brand exposure at Los Angeles International Airport, one of the most important in the United States.
“El Salvador is a key country for Avianca operations. In our high season alone, which runs from December to January, we transport more than 2 million Salvadorans on the 19 routes we operate. This demonstrates our commitment to the local market and the preference of Salvadorans to fly with us. We are sure that through Avianca more people will know what El Salvador has to offer in terms of surfing and tourism” , said David Alemán, director of Avianca for Central and South America.
For his part, Manuel Ambriz, Chief Commercial Officer of Avianca, pointed out that " we have one of the most robust networks in Latin America, which makes it the ideal option to attract surf tourism and promote Salvadoran tourist destinations." And he added that "our offer of hyper-competitive prices, service and all the attributes that characterize us are key in the process of continuing to open entry options for surfers who wish to ride the waves on Salvadoran beaches."
Promotion at LAX
The presentation of the Surf City plane is added to several actions promoting the country for the Los Angeles market.
Since February 2th, an agenda of activities will be developed to strengthen the promotion and positioning of El Salvador as a destination, among which a business meeting between representatives of travel agencies and tourism wholesalers from Los Angeles and Salvadoran tourism entrepreneurs stands out.
